I was born in 1989 in Minsk, now the Republic of Belarus, but grew up in Russia and completed a degree in Journalism at the Moscow State University there. During my studies I interned as a photographer and assistant to the picture editor at the business daily Vedomosti, a Russian subsidiary of The Financial Times. In 2010, I started to work as a correspondent for the Russian weekly magazine Ogoniok (Kommersant PH) and had stayed there until I moved to London for attending the MA Photojournalism course at the University of Westminster. Since October 2012, I am based in Moscow again. Now I work freelance and am interested in exploring both conceptual issues, such as visibility of a political regime, and concrete subjects, such as Russian LGBT community. My photographs and texts have appeared in such publications as The Sunday Times (UK), FT Weekend (UK), Germanwings (Germany), The Caravan (India), Psychologies (Russian edition) and on websites of the Guardian (UK), BBC (UK), Dazed & Confused (UK), and FK magazine (Latvia) among others.
